Tamarind is a community of builders focused on tech and AI. We learn by making things, not by watching lectures. We share what we build, help each other, and turn curious minds into capable builders.
Named after the tamarind tree — historically a source of shade, food, and medicine across Mandalay and Myanmar. We aim to be the digital equivalent: a resilient, nurturing place for builders in a fast-changing tech landscape.
Our philosophy
The fastest way to learn is to build something real, break it, and fix it. Theory comes after — in service of what you're making, not before.
AI sits at the center of everything we build. We use it at every stage — ideation, drafting, prototyping, and shipping.
We build in public when we can. We favor open-source tools, share what we learn, and contribute back where possible.
Tamarind is fluid and flexible on purpose. Structure exists to serve members, not the other way around.
How we work
Remote scrum call every day, plus a minimum of 2 hours of focused learning or building.
In-person demos, knowledge sharing, food & drinks in Bangkok. This is how the community stays a community.
A larger in-person gathering for the wider Tamarind community.
Membership
Joining
Two requirements, nothing else.
Background, degree, age, and experience don't matter. We've had members from business, design, and non-technical fields, alongside engineers and CS students.
Vision
“The goal is not to scale fast. The goal is to grow good builders.”
